Himself has just spoken to the landlord - he has changed his phone provider and so has a different number. There is no problem with his mortgage he is just in the process of amalgamating his two mortgages (his partner is sorting it all out so he didn't have the details). We can stay for as long as we like :)

Thank you all for being so kind and helpful yesterday, it was much appreciated, x

phew! glad its sorted, that must of been horrible
That's great news! Really happy for you.
That's good news but why the bailiff?
but a bit weird baliffs were involved, it usually take a while to get to that stage
Phew! Fantastic news Sherr, really happy for you x
Question Author
I don't know why the bailiff or why he knocked all our neighbours' doors.

Phew, that looks better - but I'd still like written confirmation from your landlord that all is well!

It does seem odd that the bailiff stage was reached - he can't have paid the one mortgage for several months, IMO....
Great news Sherr, did you get your sweets yet? Celebrate with a sugar rush xx
Question Author
Yes Flump, got sweets too!
Feel really happy for you sherrardk. I really felt for you y/day reading your posts x
phew sher...so did you find out why the bailiffs got involved?
Excellent news that, sherr.
sher, not to rain on your parade or anything, but bailiffs dont get involved overnight or for nowt.....do be careful.

The bailiff thing is odd, maybe there's some sort of misunderstanding or lost paperwork? I believe our landlord when he says there is no problem though, he's probably worrying himself sick waiting for the letter to get from us to him. He leaves his partner to deal with bills, etc.
Great news Sherr. x
I would still be cautious, I agree with woofgang.
Oh thank goodness Sher. I'm pleased for you. I can only imagine your sense of panic. Great news. Have a happy day. x
he leaves it all to his partner.......hmmmmm. What has happened to the partner?
I agree with the others, sher - I'd still only breathe half a sigh of relief. I don't understand where the bailiffs fit in, there must have been considerable non-payment.....
