My grid is complete apart from this clue and there are a few parsings I don't understand if some kind person couldl enlighten me please:
17d Ancient tales of late more popularly preceded by their contents (5) The answer would seem to be SAGAS (aga sagas satisfying the last bit of the clue) but I have "N" where the 1st "S" of sagas would go from ANSELM (clue was Saint Mark's inaugural gift heading off to the west - (h)ansel m)
Others I can't quite see:
10d Points to daughter getting up before son - I have DOTS
3d Carry off antique on the spot after mounting cry of approval- I have OLDIE
8d Truck for transporting copper - I have BOGEY
Bogie - Definition and More from the Free Merriam-Webster ...
Definition of BOGIE. 1: a low strongly built cart . 2. a chiefly British: a swiveling railway
Thanks slaney - are all the clashes down "that" diagonal - I haven't got many but the diagonal must be right because it's "him" (apart from the "ES" at the botton right?)
