Snood - dons + o(ld)
Annapurna
7a Snood - 'old' (in) 'dons' (puts on, back to front)
1d Annapurna - 'Anna' (girl) + anag (rocky) 'ran up'
1d Annapurna
As I wrote somewhere else, the SNOOD clue is incorrectly written. 'wearing old' indicates that the 'old' part is OUTSIDE of the rest, not inside!
Quizmonkey - Have a look at the answer from Lie-in King above.
I'm sorry, I think Quizmonkey is right: the clue doesn't work (or what am I missing?)
Wharton: I understand how the clue SHOULD work, but it doesn't - the wording is totally wrong, as I explained.
Puts on = dons
back to front = snod
wearing = consuming (o)ld
Since when does "to wear" mean "to consume"?
when it is in the context of wearing down
Acid rain wears limestone buildings, for instance
Further on that point: Chambers gives as one meaning of "to wear" "to consume, waste or damage by use , time or exposure". This equates with "rubbing away" but not with "putting on the outside"!
Mojo-jo-jo: that's exactly what I mean! So the clue makes no sense!
Chambers gives 'wearing' as an inclusion indicator , therefore Dons (back) is 'including' O.
Do you mean the 12th Edition, Mamyalynne? It's certainly not in the 11th. And even if that is so, I must say for me it still doesn't make sense. Does it make sense to you?
Sorry but people are talking rubbish here! I am a crossword compiler and know what 'wearing' indicates. If you wear something you are inside it; it is NOT inside you. The compiler has made a mistake.
Sorry Maurice, only just seen your reply - It is Chambers Crossword Dictionary 2007
Foreword on the topic of 'Cryptic Indicators' by Tim Moorey.

Wearing - a containment indicator.
Mamya - yes, it's an inclusion indicator. But it indicates BEING included, not 'including'. There's an important difference!
I am certainly not going to argue the case any further for a crossword clue, am but a novice.
