Welcome to Title Builder Beta.

This small piece of kit is designed to make building your Quiz, Crossword or Puzzle question more effective. It should make finding your question easier for others and, the easier it is to find, the more likely someone is to answer it!

To build an easy to find question title simply select the paper and quiz, enter the quiz number if relevant and fill in the Publication Date. Once you’re happy click “Build Title” and the information should populate the Title field. Fill in the final required details of your question as you normally would, and click submit.

As this is a Beta we only have a limited number of papers and quizzes listed. If you think your favourite Quiz, Crossword or Puzzle should be listed here don’t hesitate to contact us.

Remember: You do not have to use the title builder - simply enter the title and question as you normally would and click submit!

Google Fibonacci numbers. They appear in nature, the golden ratio etc. Named after Fibonacci or Leonardo of Pisa - the leaning tower of which was constructed during his lifetime. I could have used Happy numbers, Lucky numbers or even Smith numbers!!

RR again, we have actually reached the end and have to agree that this is just basic maths IF you can locate the tables to help, jim360, but, even though we had a horrendous triangular number Listener crossword a year or two ago, I still haven't found a user-friendly table for those. Of course success in this kind of puzzle helps if you don't make basic errors of logic (as I did). Clue 22d spelled out what we had to count, but I stupidly only gave one cricket team two legs each (yes - all twelve men, thanks to Oyler's prompt). It took a big nudge to prompt me that you wouldn't get far on a cricket pitch with 24 one-legged players. This thread is growing longer and longer. It is already far longer than the current Listener one (and that puzzle was compiled by the two editors!) so maybe devadolly and I are on safe ground suggesting that there should perhaps be a numerical EV alongside - repeat ALONGSIDE - the normal one - it might be a good sales move!

Can I just say that this puzzle was a breath of fresh air and I hope the exercise will be repeated. I am totally fed up with word puzzles that go along the lines of "the wordplay consist of an extra letter not entered in the grid....these spell out a message etc etc" YAWN.

MN:RGBY 21:36 Sun : No need to spend £2 on the rag, if you are near a Waitrose. Just spend three quid and get it for free. Mine goes in the recycling box unread. Unless I happen to pass one of the few public libraries open on a sunday, then it's a quick photocopy or a scan - if that annoys Mr. Manley then so much the better!
