Sorry starwalker - we must have been writing at the same moment.
Lovely.
What a delight! Missed joining the Friday Night club because I'd got it into my head to enter the missing member in generic rather than specific form. I saw the error of my ways when I was half-way up the stairs to bed. Thanks to Hedge-sparrow for an intricate and pleasing puzzle.
One of my favourite themes as well, and a very fine interpretation. Better than I could have come up with, I'm sure...
Simply epic. The best constructed Listener for a very long time. I loved it.
Yes, very fine. I had the same flying start as Ruthrobin and thought it was going to be a stroll in the park. But it wasn't; not by any means. Most enjoyable!
Absolutely brilliant - a much loved theme that I spotted very early on, but the wealth of material included was superb.

Even when I knew where I was going, it took a lot of careful parsing of the clues to get to the end.

My favourite so far this year I think.
Fully agree with everyone else. Haven't had so much fun on a Listener crossword since Shackleton's Jackson Pollock puzzle.
Wow! Fantastic, clever, and just the right difficulty for me.
Late start on this but it certainly lives up to all the praise above. Great fun and a brilliant construction. Well done Hedge-Sparrow. It's only May but must be a contender for the prize next March.
Now it's time to hone numerical skills ready for next week.
Credit where credit's due...excellent puzzle. Thanks Hedge-Sparrow
Superb puzzle full of thematic material. I savoured it.

Many thanks, Hedge-Sparrow.
A work of art - thanks Hedge-Sparrow. Shame to hear it's the dreaded numerical next week, and there I was thinking I'd completed a full set so far this year .... ;¬(
Yes, theme easily spotted and still working on it. Good to know that there are more satisfying steps ahead
It's like a Swiss Watch, IainGrace ... all the parts just drop into place perfectly - nothing is wasted either.
What a clever construction! I am in awe. Like others I guessed the theme at the beginning, but what satisfaction (and many hours) in working it out.
Great puzzle, not quite finished (figuring out how to make the tour route still).

New theme to me. Always fun to learn about something new in these Listeners!
The source material is well worth a complete look, fallster.
I agree, Jim - I had not done so before and it was a bonus of this already delightful puzzle that it prompted me to do so.

I didn't get the theme straight away - I was convinced it was something else, which led me badly astray for quite a while.
Beautiful construction. At first the problems seemed intractable but the solutions gradually emerged in a satisfying way. My only problem now is deciding precisely which 23 cells to highlight. "Places visited" yes, but I'm not sure about the "thematic representations".
