took me ages vakayu to suss it

I first of all thought it must be a setter's error,then I looked up characters from Trainspotting as I was not very up on them,then typed in Edinbain (anagram)which I luckily found,this crossword is not usually double difficulties like this,although I must admit as a Scot born and bred I have not heard of quite a few of the words,whichever part of the country Keith comes from?
