No spread of cancer cells to lungs or liver. Having thought all in the clear and put it behind me I then see the specialist colonrecto nurse who tells me I will be summoned to the Royal Marsden to discuss possible chemotherapy. I'm told in my case that chemo will give only 3-4% benefit if I opt to take it. Apparently the eminent professor of oncology doesn't say have it or don't bother when it is discussed. I would rather be told I should have it or it is not worth it as the risk is low. I am left to make the decision at the end of the day though I ashping no more hospital for a while. Just got in from an ultra sound scan re my enlarged aorta so am getting fed up withal these various appts stacking up. Still. I am grateful that the NHS has my best interest at heart and is pulling out all the coals. Glad I don't live in Wales also :-)
All in all not too bad a result then.I know what you mean about having to decide whether to have treatment or not. I was not sure about having intravenous infusions for osteoporosis after an x-ray revealed I have several crush fractures in my spine, but luckily I have a Gp who has been assigned to look after me and he is very good at discussing things.
