I am bit surprised to be the first person posting, maybe I have missed a thread elsewhere. An enjoyable fill, with much confusion until I changed which letter I was looking at, then everything went smoothly. Even though I was searching for the particular poet from the very start, I missed it until near the end. Hidden in plain sight.
Thank you Jaques.

Yes, whenever you're required to look at the wrong letters rather than the right ones I stumble at first, but fixed it quickly enough to reveal a familiar theme. The implementation was very well done, I thought, so thanks Jaques.
I made the same mistake in looking at the wrong letter. Again as with most weeks I learnt some new words.
An enjoyable puzzle centred on a particular favourite of mine. Although I know which letter needs changing I am still puzzling over the word play for 16 across. I actually managed to get to last week's earlier on but I cannot find two of the characters which need removing. They must be there somewhere though.
A very enjoyable puzzle , but I also have the same probiem as Novalis. I am also baffled by what the first letter should be in 21 down since the clue does not make sense to me. Any hints would be very much appreciated.
Regarding last weeks puzzle Novalis think forester.
The penny has dropped afterI realised the error of my ways. It is amazing how bad eyesight causes problems sometimes. I can now relax for the rest of the day.
Yes, I enjoyed this one, though also looked at the wrong letter to begin with. This puzzled me, as I guessed the quote before I had put pen to paper and then thought I must have guessed wrongly. Doh.
I am in and out at the moment, away four or five weeks ago and off again on 7th November, visiting family in the Isle of Man and then on to Cappadoceia for a week. So still catching up on EV's and have last week's to complete, but couldn't resist doing this ahead, as it looked like my sort of puzzle.
Thanks for that Shoni70. I should have got there a lot more quickly. Although I know what the unchecked letter is for 16a in this one I can still not sort out the word play properly.
Novalis: Definition is first two words, with vowel change.
Word play: indicated word has all its insides removed then add abbreviation for electron. Answer is 3 letters.
Thanks for that Christiana. As always I was trying to over-complicate things.
