Had a lot of problems with this. Redshank is a new setter for me. I am not yet on the same wavelength!

Some clues which I didn't understand:
5d)Tsar: I haven't a clue =
IVAN-THE-TERRIBLE

7d)Mineral containing carbon in ordinary biscuit, say =
PORCELAIN

8d) No change in options for locals = NATIVES

11a Bedsit - 'i' (one, in) anag 'debts'
13a Unfreeze - 'un' (Fr. "a" [in clue]) + 'freeze' (sounds like 'frieze'; band)
5d Ivan the Terrible - anag 'I havent' (terrible is also the anagram indicator)
7d Porcelain - 'c(arbon)' (in) 'ore' (all in) 'plain'
8d (alter)Natives - "no change" (no 'alter')
UN - foreign
Freeze sounds like frieze (band)

Still don't understand how "terrible" is obtained here:

Does it mean the clue is terrible :)
Or maybe when you say you are "terrible" at names, for example. That means you haven't a clue.
'terrible' indicates an anagram of 'I havent' = Ivan the...

Yes - the 'clue'is a Terrible (anagrammed) rendition of 'I haven't'

I think it works in your mind but very hard to put on screen,think both Maj and I agree what it is.
Me too.
Redshank is not going to become my favourite setter.
13ac is unforgiveably obscure....
