I see the Sunday Times has rejected my email solution again despite, I'm sure, my entry being complete and with the correct number. Has anyone else had this problem?

Boxtops replied that it was obvious that people did so for the reason that it was indeed their last question. He was being defensive as this is so obvious as to be irrelevant and unnecessary. A psychologist came up with what I suspected; that people did so to illustrate they had been clever enough to answer many other clues but this one had evaded their intellect. He went on to explain that these people were insecure to a varying degree and were anxious to make it clear they weren't as dim as people might assume. The fact that their identities within AB are anonymous only emphasised the deeper insecurity these people felt. He went on to postulate that they were probably unsuccessful in their jobs and life in general and other flaws in their characters which I've no wish to pursue here. A few people replied who did indeed state they did say they were asking for the reasons already explained. These people, according to the psychologist, are apparently, facing up all their weakness and need not be overly concerned.
I found it all very interesting. It's surprising what the experts can dig out of an apparently simple reaction.
