There were some really tough clues in ths puzzle but when I managed to crack them they were often really clever so thanks to the setter.there's still one that I can't fully decode. " rousing items in the style of Queen - and rapper jams". (5,6). I have a?a?m, ?l?i?s so the answer would seem to be " alarm flares". I can see the "a la R " bit and I can see the solution ( if it's right!) but I can't get the rest. Can someone put me out of my misery please?

Thank you so much . I'd boxed myself by having "injun" " instead of "Cajun". But, to be honest, I wouldn't have cracked it anyway. The "mc" bit I might have got but the jams = locks would have defeated me though I see it now. Thank you Mamalynne and Bibblebub.
