Have completed this but am uncertain of my answers to 2 - 4 down Fraser's characters seen in "tin hats" RAIDERS? (R?I?E?S) and 13 across Fielding character SLIP (?L?P) - can anyone confirm or negate?

Is this a play on Fielding (author) and fielding in cricket? Is Mrs Slipslop relevant here? Slip is a fielding position in cricket.

Thank you frugalfred - think that would do - thought I had finished but noticed 16 down - proponent of metric system - P?O?OI?T - absolutely no idea - can you help?

Forget 16 down - I realise it is PROSODIST - different kind of metric system to the one I had been thinking of!
Yes, I twigged the metrical reference had something to do with poetry/prose rather than centimetres, etc., but couldn't get it.
