any letters or other clues that might give them?
Question Author
Sorry bibblebub but I am really struggling with this one and the clues I do have are nothing to do with this clue.
That's certainly some clue/answer! Must take up half the crossword :-)
Question Author
This is easily the worse clue I have ever come across

We definitely need some letters.
Question Author
??? E?????? ???T?? ??N???? ?? ???? ?? ??????

This as far as I have got, Will update when I get some more (IF?)
your initial letter count shows a 10 letter word and another 2 letter word near the end but what you have just posted doesn't - are they there or not?
Question Author
Sorry bibblebub, I'll try again

??? E?????? ???T?? ?N???? ?? ???? ?? ?????????? ?? ??????

Sorry about that.
i have noticed that "Month's intelligence, Ice returning now? Ugh, I may just need" is a total of 48 letters, which is the same as the total for the solution, so could be an anagram of that but my solving aids aren't any use

Wow! Well done L-i-k
Question Author
All I can say is WOW I would never have got that, many thanks to all.

Excellent, but just out of curiosity, (assuming you don't know the complete works of Byron verbatim), how did you get from A to B in a straight line with this one? Ta
Wow thanks for that LiK, I too would be curious to know how you managed that one
Glad I could help :-)

Cap'n - I don't know Byron intimately that well! I counted the letters then guessed at 'the' for the 3-letter word, used souxie's 'E' & guessed 'English'.

The "wrapped up" in the clue hinted to me the weather's involvement & the rest fell into place eventually.
"intimately that well" ?? Apologies - I'm having trouble concentrating as my flat resembles a war zone at the moment - new heating being installed & it's very noisy!
Thanks LiK - I've a lot to learn yet.

Souxie - it'll be only a small reward but Best Answer for LiK please.
