Mamya - yes I did realise that.

Sadly unless the grid is wrong - definitely 7 letters. The n comes from Jon Beer (so def right) the e comes from coracle (welsh fishing boat - so seems def right) and the d comes from instead (clue - alternatively so seems right). The only thing i have found is Sneda which you will note is alas 6 letters - so i'm really stuck.
