Well I liked that - yes it was relatively simple, but the construction was very nicely done indeed.

Anyone who skimped on the third part of the rubric is in for a nasty surprise I think ...

I also agree with Ruthrobin. I liked many of the clues and I learned some new words. Solving the final 9-letter anagram also took a while. I enjoyed the whole thing.
Sadly Piccadilly no longer sets numerical puzzles. His last one appeared in the November issue of The Magpie in 2004. However he set some of the most inventive puzzles in this genre and has inspired many of today's setters.
in reply to Zabadak I had found enough of the missing letters to work out what was required.
