Managed to get to the end but a stupid misinterpretation of clue H held me up. I found it tricky to get going but it came together nicely. A very pretty miniature!

Nice puzzle, though I took far more than that number of steps! I was half expecting some message to appear by converting the perimeter into base 26 or similar -- but perhaps I just missed it.

I thought this was a lovely numerical, simple in construction and design and yet needing a bit of head scratching to work through. Perfect entertainment for a chilly Saturday morning. Thanks kea

Even better the puzzle number is a prime and is two 2-digit primes one after the other. Further 373 is prime too!

6 spreadsheets and even more sheets of A4 later and I’m over the line. While pleased with myself for not giving up, I can’t say I found this anything other than a laborious number-crunching exercise, and how anyone other than a mathematician could crack it without Excel and / or internet access is beyond me. Where’s the fun in it? Sorry Kea, I’m sure this took a huge amount of effort to set up but the point of it is lost on me.

Sorry to hear that you found this such a labour s_pugh. I can however vouch that it is easily solvable with a single sheet of A4 and a calculator, and I'm certainly no mathematician (unless you count an 'O' Level in the mid 70s !). I certainly wouldn't know where to start with Excel ;-)
Of course a list of primes and/or a factor generator does speed the process, but then the benefits of the internet hold true for the non-numericals too.
