Two to complete today. I have answers to both but not confident that either are correct.

15A: Louisa May knocked block off Jersey Joe! (6). I have ASCOTS. But why?
23D: Roguish leader abandons demo. (4) I have ARCH (March - M) can't see why from the clue.

Once I read Louisa May Alcott I immeadiately got Jersey Joe Walcott and could then knock the block (head - W) off Walcott.

Thank you one and all for the effort and time that you all afforded to me.
