Manchurian
rusty
What you put for 29 across, is it toes or tree
seen as Keane
Can anyone explain how the "could be taken for a Merseysider!" fits in, please
I suppose that although we assosciate Merseyside with Liverpool, the River Mersey does extend into Manchester where Mancunians live
I've just spotted that Captain2 is around- hopefully you'll see this, Captain2, and show me that I'm missing something that's staring me in the face with Manchurian
Hi again FF
I very nearly posted the same comment as yours at 07.03 because as a Manc myself I was a bit miffed! Everything else follows through from clue to answer but perhaps the setter doesn't know his geography or is unaware of the 'friendly' rivalry (and the Mersey flows through Stockport not Manchester per se) - but hey ho :o))
Thanks, Captain. I suppose if the setter is in Ireland, Manchester and Merseyside are pretty close to each other relative to the distance between Ireland and England. It's a bit like Americans thinking Edinburgh, or even all of Scotland, is in England
Just like the island of Ireland ~ there are 2 countries ~
Northern Ireland and the Republic of Ireland on the island.
Hi tony- not sure whether you are agreeing or disagreeing.
Ireland is a country and I assume RTE is Ireland's equivalent to Radio Times. I agree it's a different country to Northern Ireland
Merseyside and Manchester are also different places
