Buzzer the stannah lift!!!!. Stay on the G&T's and buy a bungalow.
Our house has very step narrow stairs (almost Dutch/Amsterdam). Our bathroom /toilet is down stairs off the hallway. Luckily we have a study/bedroom off the hall as well which I can use when eldest isn't dossing with us during the week until he can get a branch relocation nearer to Dorset. :-(

A bungalow has been suggested too which would be nice - unfortunately they are few and far between around here. Fancy a move to Norfolk where our friends are but we'd have to get rid of half our furniture (4 bed house at the moment)
