I guessed that rim was the edge, but did not want to put it in just in case, why do I get stuck on such small clues when I can usually manage the others, who knows, old age I guess. Many thanks xxx
I - being the setter of the clue. Rim being the edge
Old age is subjective
.....old age grows on you!
You're welcome thistles. I often have the same problem with the small clues.
Parse is. r(river) + I'm (setter's)
Question Author
you could well be right Danny
Very succinct Sippo:-)
As my dear old Mum used to say 'old age does not come alone' how right she was!
Question Author
My mum said the same thing too.
Can you explain that Margo?

Usually it means that things like slowing down, etc., getting a wee bit slow in your thinking when you get older, which is not always the case.i still think that I am 18 years old and not 72 years old.
found out it's a welsh proverb but the site has gone .
I guess she meant loss of memory and all the various aches and pains etc etc
Ah that would explain it Mally my Mum was Welsh.
Thanks Margo:-)
Glad I'm not the only one who gets defeated by the short answers
