Ladies day- (hors)es inside la di da + y
Es - last two letters in horses inside la di da ( posh)

Thank you so much for very clear and rapid replies.Much appreciated.
Can I ask what the 'Y' represents in the wordplay?
Please don't Lynne.
Meh
Y is an unknown so I suppose it will have to remain so.
Not good enough.
Sorry Lynne I looked at the clue over and over again but couldn't parse the Y
Hopefully someone can.
I cant parse the Y either - I think this is a Mr Mayer mistake -
accommodation.Could it be 'the Y as the YMCA is often called.
That must be it.
I think accommodation is "housing" the last pair of horses - ES. Maybe they thought the expression for Posh is la di day rather than la di da
I think the es is in posh and accommodation is superflous to that.
aargh - I see what you mean - the Y is the YMCA - looks good
^superfluous^
