Stuck on one clue
4d make fast( a rope) by means of a hitch
K?E?T . The k comes from James Kennaway who was the author of Tunes of glory but the only answer I can find is cleat.
Any help would finish the puzzle.

Thanks, I thought of that but cannot find any ref. That matches the clue in my dictionary.
Is it possible that there's an error in the crossword?
...two other people have queried this.
