Has anyone tried this yet? Wondered what you think of it. Apparently it is still in the "BETA" stage. I was asked to try it. Do not like it. Too much in your face so to speak and navigation not much good. Would be interested to know any Crossworders views.

Why is this in crosswords?

So different I agree, some things are better - the clearer text for example.

Early days for me to say much more, I am a creature of habit and routine.

Been on there 2 or 3 times now, quite like it. the navigation is different but I don't go with 'not much good' opinion, if you don't use it you'll never get used to it.
There is a thread on the Beta site - "Thoughts on the new layout" in Chatterbank with a lot of comments.

I think Ed would appreciate your input on there as well, Jamjar :-)
it's incompatible with the IExplorer that I have to use with my employer's laptop. the badly-designed-advert-long-running-script issue seizes it up rendering it unusable.
If you can access the new site Jamjar you will see that Ed has a thread running for us to air our likes and dislikes and to make recommendations. There are opinions on the thread, by avid crossword contributors, that you may be able to add to. The thread is headed "Thoughts on the New Layout" posted by the Ed.
I tend to agree that these comments would have been best kept to the Beta site - difficult if some are finding it unusable though.

Maybe an email in that instance.
Ahh LiK crossed post. :))

This is a link direct to that question posted by Ed, Jamjar.
People don't like change.
I remember the hoohah a few years ago when FaceBook had a drastic change - people hated it, threatened to leave the site for good, begged for the old one to be restored.
Within a month nobody could remember what the old site looked like.

Use the new site for a few hours and you'll be used to it.
got the links but not had time yet..looked in last time and it was different..but nowt stays the same..we should be pleased ED is consulting us
Checked the link which asked for username and password which I provided but won't accept it.Any ideas?
you need to use the user and pass words supplied by ed when he invited you to join in NOT your AB ones
Danny did you try it with the names and password provided in the invitation that takes you in then you have to sign in with your own ones.
OK
My problem with the new one is only due to my dislike of "new",when we eventually change I will probably think it great after a few weeks.
Why is this in crosswords?
The Crossword section on Beta has attracted some criticism and the OP wants opinions of other crossworders - that's my guess.
Donny is right Danny(always wanted to say that) You will need the betasite username and password given to you by Ed, then sign in with your usual (email?) username and password that you use for this site. Don't have a heart attack when you see that you have "lost" 2,000 best answers. (^_*)
togo, my BA's are correct.Haven't lost any according to my profile.
Not sure I like the new site.
