De facto
de facto?
de facto fits the pattern but not the clue
de facto fits ........?
Exactly, FF.
sorry- wasn't questioning yours danny
For FF,divorce/defacto-relationships/3 May 2016 ... A de facto relationship is defined in Section 4AA of the Family Law Act 1975.
Sorry, danny- I'm not convinced. De facto just means 'from the fact'. Maybe this isn't the full clue.
Well done, Danny.
It's not the best clue, is it?
More for FF
https://www.humanservices.gov.au/customer/enablers/your-relationship-status30 Jan 2017 ... We consider you and your partner are in a de facto relationship from the time you start living as a couple.
I have the invisibility cloak on today.
I can see you Tilly :-)
Good.
I don't know where the Lovatts crossword comes from, but Chambers gives 'de facto' as 'noun (Australian) a de facto husband or wife'.

Thanks. Never seen this used as a noun- but i suppose language has moved on since the days when Latin was spoken here
Unless it's in an Australian publication, I don't like this clue very much!
