Good point but it's letter counts we need, it doesn't bother me where a clue is from.

I think some posters think that after posting the clue they'll get another box asking for the count/pattern

It could be tricky because many people post directly from AB's home page (where the title builder doesn't appear), rather than coming to 'Crosswords'.

Further, I think that the title builder might well confuse newbies (and others!) anyway.

Lastly, I've never seen the point of putting the name of the newspaper and the date in a title anyway! The clue, together with a letter count, any intersecting letters and possibly an indication of whether it's cryptic or non-cryptic (where it's not otherwise clear) is all that's needed.
