I have looked, I have stared and I am just getting no-where, a couple of clues have possible answers, but what do I do with them then (always supposing they are correct anyway)? The 'significance' removal, is it a synonym of significance, or is it of 'significance' to the clue....or the answer......or? All are possibilities. Really need massive help understanding it all to even begin to solve. Many thanks.
Devadolly, the word of significance denotes cryptically how the answer must be treated before it is entered in the grid. For example, in 1 across the significant word is EFFORTS, which is to be read as EF for TS.
Yes, 11a does have a removal. It was one of the last I got, even after spotting the word that described the removal -- but I wasn't paying enough attention to the fact that it is a three-word answer.
