There are 6 pairs of unnumbered clues whose solutions can each placed in two locations, and it is not possible to tell which is which. One clue appears as both a numbered (14 down) and unnumbered clue and another unnumbered clue is a different form of the clue to 22 down. If this is an April Fool, it's a very strange one!

Just realised the April fool joke!
All sorts of answers could fit in more than one place in un-numbered clues.

Jolly good... none the wiser... but jolly good

Alphabetically Brae comes before Brie.

Thanks All for your participation. The unnumbered clues can be placed in either of two positions, the joke being that you spend ages trying to figure out which one goes where. Finally we realised that it doesn't matter as long as they fit in with the rest of the grid.

Always fun to do the FT Weekend crossword!
