I have one clue to which I simply cannot find an answer: a male peregrine falcon. (6-6 ) i have ?a?s?l, ?e?t?e .
They are normally known as tercels but I think "tarsel " is a possibility for the first word. But I simply cannot think what the second word might be. I'd be really grateful if someone could help me move on from this puzzle!

The s comes from "enneads" "sets of nine items". No it does not say Scotts... It is just as I wrote it. "Gentle" is an interesting suggestion. Is that a usual term in ornithology?
Just found this - from this site amazingly enough and from The Generalist
(that is why I was questioning your 'S')
The alternative does sound good though.
Sorry. I have just seen Mamyalynne's suggestion. Now confirmed by Toorak. That is surely the answer. Thank you to all of you, with a particular vote of thanks to these two. It was driving me crazy. Now I can relax. I am so grateful!
