12D. This clue was in the Dundee Courier the other day and the answer in the published grid is New. Still don't understand the answer to the question

I can't see why it's NEW either- I can't see a definition or any wordplay apart from there being an EW bit hidden in the clue. Does the clue defintely say 'urbanite'?

Yes it says urbanite. It may should say something else eg Urbane. Not the 1st time the paper had had mistakes. One cryptic clue had the word Nightshift. Should have been Nightshirt as answer was Pyjamas!
