carp maybe but not parsed it yet
Carp or Harp fit the definition and letter pattern but can't parse either.
Or if a horse, Jade but can't parse that either.
moan if both are wrong?
MO (little time) + An (A)?
Does it mean nag?
FF, I think you must be right.
Yes, moan fits well for nags.
Question Author
Thank you all The answer is carp An abbreviated form of carpe as in carpe diem
That must be it dave. Works well
How does carp parse with the clue ?
Carp(e diem)
Donny, carpe(seize) + diem(day)
Question Author
Carpe diem (Latin) =seize the day =time to get to grips with . Little meaning shortened = carp which means nag as my wife is doing to me now !
I see "carpe diem" but where does "get to grips" fit, or am I missing something.
All is now clear, I can be a trifle slow at times, Thank you.
time to seize = time to get to grips with
Sorry, a few crossed posts. All sorted now. Have you corrected the incorrect one now, dave?
Question Author
Thank you all for being so helpful. I think you all need a drink so it's my round. Let me know where we are meeting and I'll be there asap when the wife stops carping on !
Thanks. Yes, let's seize the day. Mine's a pint of bitter
