That doesn't help I don't think. Still, no harm in starting that little bit again
Yes it could help if the third letter of 25a crosses with yiElds
FF, Clue for crier is 23d above in original post.
Could Cryer be with the Y, then Yields would work?
For yields to work they would have to have spelt it cryer which i don't think is an a ccepted spelling
It's an old English variant i think
'Cryer' isn't even referred to in Chambers - that has only 'crier'.

I thought of Yields that was assuming 23d was Mayor.
Perhaps Ireland's Own is spelling Crier with a Y ~ crier. lol
