A coaxial wave exists davemano. See here paragraph 3 http://www.google.com.pg/patents/US2971170

I think the I was wrong Davemano.
I had Apiece for the clue;
Having something to play, each (6)
That would have given us the 'I' in my original clue, Going from the BBC to ITV, for instance(7,4)
Actually I think apiece is probably right, so something else must be wrong, at least in the first word because I can't find a word that exists with that letter combination and if that's the case, coaxial wave is also wrong.
Quizproquo - link relates to waveguide and is not coaxial.
What puzzle is this please? I'd put money on Mamya's 'Channel surf' being the right answer to that clue & something else entirely throwing the pattern out.
If this is a crossword, I respectfully suggest the grid/clues have been badly mangled somewhere along the line.
I based it on this Davemano, but I think it's wrong too anyway because if the initial I is provided by apiece I think that's right and the first letter is I:

"Another object of the invention is a surface Wave transmission line of the form of a two-wire transmission line connected at one or both ends thereof to suitable surface wave launching or receiving device or wave matching device adapted to transform the surface wave into a coaxial wave"
This gets worse - I retire unless something 'definite' comes up.
Nah Davemano, "definite" doesn't fit the letters :)
Q I accept your post, on CW. If 'definite' doesn't fit the letters, Inapikl does.

Could it be Initial Page?
Going to the BBC to ITV, for instance? (7,4)

This one could have messed things up too;

The Springer's name? (7)
S???P??
Initial move would make more sense. Are you sure about the "A" in the second word?
(Springer) Spaniel ?
Question Author
Nescio, the A comes from 'Salvage'
Clue: What the missionary will do with the old house? (7)
???V???
Initial move?
Patsy, could you answer a few questions?

Is this a crossword in a publication?

Is it a conventional grid?

Or is it an attempt by an amateur at compiling?
Question Author
Sounds good Danny. Do you think clue above ,'Salvage' is wrong? That's where I get the 'A' from. The second word 'Move' would make the 'O' an 'A'
