Stuck on 29d: Where trawler is heading back when it's replaced line: haa*. Haaf? Haak? Haar? Probably the first, but I've no inkling why. Can anybody help, please?

I can't really parse but Haaf seems the most logical.

That's what I thought, but I couldn't work it out, either.
Haaf - when 'a' ("it"; dialect) replaces 'l(ine)' in 'half(back)' (?)
