Help with 'parsing' please?

14a - Infernal place, Herts town, in which to perform -- it's off putting (11) d?s?r?c?i?g - I think it must be 'distracting' but I don't understand it - I guess 'tring' is in there and 'acting' but it's a mystery to me!

Dis =hell Tring in Herts around act - perform
In Dante's The Divine Comedy, the city of Dis encompasses the sixth, seventh, eighth and ninth circles of Hell.
Dis is a classical Greek/Roman name for the Underworld.

'Dis' for hell is new to me, I've just looked it up in the BRB and it says about 'Dis' 'A name for the god Pluto, hence, the infernal world'

Yes, Dis in Greek, Pluto in Latin, god of the Underworld (Hades).
