thanks to you all, jj109, mallyh, mac44 and dannyk. i suspected an anagram but could not see it, i did not think of subtracting the letters trio from "figure out" the setters trick of fooling me into thinking the OUT was the anagram pointer caught me fair and square. thanks again to you all for putting me on the straight and narrow, regards to all
