Ah Enigmatist, we meet again. And once again you've put me in a bad mood. Having spent an hour jamming words into the grid based on what fitted, rather than understanding any clues (well OK, a couple of them were alright, but some are still ... enigmatic I guess). Anyway, five left, out of patience, can't be arsed to persevere any more, so here I am.
18 Queen's name included in list for Swampy? (7) L_R_E_N No clues. Even a wikipedia regex search came up with nothing.
20 Chap last in Tour: "I don't want any more cycling!" (7) R_ _ _ H _ N Roughen=chap?
24 Strong liquor street bar had in short supply (6) _T_ _ _ O
22 Loveless woman of some allure to set about Valentine's rival (6) T _ _ _ I _
17 Great disappointment for ice cream lover? Topping embellishment (7) C _ _ _ R _ T Currant, coronet?
Meh.

18 L-ER-n-ean
24 Stingo, strong liquor. St, street +Ingo(t), baar.
20. Yes, Roughen. Anagram (cycling) of 'enough', I don't want any more + the R from the end of Tour.
Thurio
Coronet
Letters for 22 across should be T_U_I_
I haven't got it yet either.
22 Valentine's rival = Thurio = Houri (alluring woman) - O(loveless) inside "to" (set about)
Coronet = O(nothing) inside Cornet
Thanks, JJ109. I get the reference now!
Lernean (Hydra) was from the swamp.
Lean aound E.R + N(ame)
"The second labor of Hercules was to kill the Lernean Hydra. From the murky waters of the swamps"

Wow. Thanks everyone. Nice to get it filled in.
18, Had brute-forced Lernean from the clue, but google didn't turn up anything, so I ignored it.
20, fair enough. Kinda.
24. Hadn't heard of it.
22. Hadn't heard of either the answer, or houri, but had tried the TO around the outside a couple of times, and wordsearch had failed.
17. Thought there must be a cornet coronet link, but having had it explained to me, I still can't see the connection.
But now I can get on with my day, so *** ... :-)
If you have nothing (o) in a cornet, = no ice cream, just the wafer and so is a great disappointment to an ice-cream fan. Coronet is obviously a head/topping embellishment
A cornet is what we 'murcans call an ice cream cone (which is why I couldn't come up with the answer either.
Confused estimating what the setter meant?
Which clue is confusing you?

Many thanks for the compliment Toorak.
