Hi Danny quick and cryptic correct two wrong answers in the GK grrrr. How did you do?

Unbelievable 86% on the GK. I checked everything against Chambers. I had a typo on Ovambo but everything else checked out apart from 27a for which I have Sawyer which is not in Chambers.I am at a complete loss as to what else is wrong.

I checked Sawyer and found a reference for it as a longhorn beetle. The river I had Lualaba, french coin, cardecu, hindu mendicant, sanyasi, ottoman governor, beglerbeg

I am equally baffled - partly by where I have gone wrong and partly by the scoring system.

The only score I see from time to time (other than - ahem - 100%...) is 96% which I've always assumed is for one error. For this one, though, I have 89%... Given that Danny has 86%, I'm failing to find a pattern here...

Does anyone know how it works...?

OK - scoring... Someone has given me a plausible(ish...!) explanation:

"There were 14 'down' clues, 14 'across' clues - total: 28 clues.

Your 89% relates to having correctly answered 89% of 28 clues.

89% of 28 = 24.92. Therefore you have correctly answered 25 clues."

Looks like we probably have the same answers.We will have to wait untilo Monday to find out, but it seems very strange.

O... K... I've now checked my answers against the solution and they are all correct - except that the DT has 24A as "Ragnorak" instead of "Ragnarok". This is clearly wrong as 12D is "Balletshoes".

It doesn't help that DT prints the solution below an empty grid.

HI Babs. I also checked the solution this morning.I have contacted the DT regarding this. Nobody can offer an explanation andd it is obviously too late to do anything about it now.I have completed this weeks prize crosswords and they are showing 100-% so let's hope it was a one off.
