I was actually asking if -

of, more than (7) - is the full clue?

Assuming the 'D' in 'Depleting' is a crossing letter & is correct, does - deAdening - work & allow for 'stars' ?

Upwards (of; more than) (although that means the 'T' & 'E' would be wrong?)

In July 2018 this clue was asked previously, and it appeared that the answer was UPWARDS! Obviously this could be a completely different answer today, but can you please check that the T & E are correct. Thankyou

Yes that's it, Daunt and 36d Aquatic bird is a Wader which fits in with the other clue.
