Can I just test a couple of answers to clues in this puzzle please?
1. Gee! the way these films are shown
Is the answer "uncut" please.

2. Here comes 15 down. (The answer to 15d in the puzzle is "slacker"). Is the answer "idler"?

These answers fit the letters I have but I don't fully follow the logic.

The puzzle appears to be a fairly standard cryptic. The setter is Enigma

Re - 1 - If they are intimating 'G' Rated films then uncut doesn't really make sense but I may be reading the clue wrong.

Thanks for the comment, Mamyalynne. I have u*c*t . Is there anything else which might work better please?
I may well have read it wrong and it does work - not needing to be cut therefore 'G' suitable for all.
What letters do you have for 2 please?
?D?E?

So that looks right as Idler - sloppy clues I think.

I was not impressed by the clues either! But, as I am still (relatively) new to this world, I thought it might be me. So, it's pleasing that someone as good and experienced as you (Mamyalynne) is unimpressed as well
Alan
That's very flattering, however I am often flummoxed.
Question Author
Sorry, I had a visitor.
Just to say Mamyalynne :if you are "flummoxed" (lovely word!) you hide it very well. While I have been trying to improve, I look at other people's questions and the answers you and a few other people provide. I have a real admiration for you all. I shan't name the other members of the pantheon, for fear of leaving some worthies out but you certainly are there!
And thanks for your help with this particular puzzle.
Alan
You're right , there are some very clever solvers on here and in the main we do like to help.

I like flummoxed too, describes me well often -sailing along serenely whilst paddling fiercely below the surface.
