I am sorry to disagree with all you experts BUT I THINK the answer to 22d is TEND? If you split the word 'something' into 'some thing' then the start is the letter 'T' and that makes TEND which is the only word meaning 'make' in my Chambers Crossword Dictionary. Please come back with your thoughts on my parse
I am sorry elliemay1 and Davemano, however the words as listed in my Chambers Crossword Dictionary under 'MAKE' only list the TEND and not SEND or even MEND. I know that taking the word 'something' the start of that word equals 'S' but you know as well as I that the skeleton makes up his own rules and the split of the one word into two making 'some thing' is the letter 'T' which makes TEND and is the ONLY letter meaning 'MAKE'. Over to you!
