One of many common incorrect literary quotations or, at the very least, mis-quotations. What Alexander Pope wrote in his "Essay on Criticism" was "A little learning is a dangerous thing". Cf:

"All that glisters is not gold"
"The lady doth protest too much, methinks"

And many others.
