Where does the "N" that i need for the spare/extra letter come from in the clue...
Ice seen off cape, polar region . Answer is ICECAP

Can't see the 11 letters to highlight although I have the 10,8 for under the grid.

usual place gives a phrase 4,3,4 ..synonyms of the 10,8

PP, the clue was actually 'Isle seen off...' Take the N off 'seen', and then you have I, isle, C, see (in Bradford's) +Cape, anagrammed.

It might be difficult to see what's to be highlighted if you've got some of the letters removed/added to entries wrong (if you anagram these removed/added letters you'll get the same phrase x2).
