19d Half-hearted girl's stories (3) A _ A
29d Maybe Glaswegian home around capital (4) I _ I _
(I wondered about Ilid which is Dili reversed but could not find a word ilid!)
There is another rule also, for 19d if you swap the last A for an I, it must form a word (nothing to do with the clue though) and for 29d if you remove the first I and replace it with an H, it must again form a dictionary word.
2 to help parse please
12a Old imposters to put in entertaining places (7) F _ I _ O _ S
The answer is obviously FAITORS (an obsolete word for impostors), but how does the rest parse. please?
4d Novice in love, slowing up (4) _ I _ O
I presume TIRO (novice) but don't see the rest.
