19D Squares cut up into two small ones (7)

I have S_AR_ES. Is it scarves (carve in s,s)?

26D Non-standard currency, silver, foot from side to side (5)

I have _E_GS. If I put in Ag for silver, I can find peags, a shell currency, but can't fit the rest of the clue.

I thought it was tougher than usual, JF85 - and if it is PA[L]Y for 'rent' in 30ac, that's pushing the def ('divided by vertical lines') a bit far, I think).

that's much better, thanks JF85 (I went for the abbrev. AP[parently] + PA[L]Y)!

No worries. Took me much longer than last week, but still enjoyed it. It just feels less satisfying to ask for help, but I knew I wouldn't be happier about those two even if I stared at them for a couple of days :-)
...I knew my 'solution' was too much of a swerve for Azed (should have kept looking)!
