Epris - yes
Epris (captivated) = E(uropean) + Pris(e)
almost "prise" (force)
Diluter (yes) = I'd reversed + luter (a player of a lute / old instrument).
If you dilute something you weaken it
ID reversed+ luter, player of a lute, to dilute means to weaken the strength of something
