Am having problems with some obscure questions in a local crossword. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
1A. Super-cool (3)
5A. “Dial 999!” (3,4)
1D. Large motorbike (3). Is this “hog” by any chance?
2D. Small flat mass of something soft (3)
3D. Thread-maker (3). I believe it to be D??
4D. Upper limit (3). I believe it to be C??
6D. Material for bits and blades (1-1,1). I believe this to be (?-?, S)

This is the hardest mini I have come across or am I suffering from post-Christmas sloth.......

Any help appreciated. T.I.A.

Best wishes to you all for 2021.

Thanks for your answers. Some have proved to be correct, others do not fit the grid.
Using HIP for 1A, gives me P?T for small fat maass of something soft.
Using HOG for 1D gives me GET HELP for Dial 999, which gives me D?E for Thread-maker. (ellie-may1 provided a suggestion DIE, but I can't tie this in to the clue. Am I wrond and is she right?
GET HELP gives me H-? S for material for bits and pieces, so I think this must be H-T S, i.e High-tensile steel.....
Has anyone out there any more suggestions to make by any chance?
TIA
Happy New Year to all; stay well and stay safe.
