Just got back - I think your extra letter problem might be partly to do with 30d - it's 'croSs' (in the hybrid sense) not 'crown' but you're just about there, so it doesn't really matter.

I missed your 7a and 12a question . Did you get them tedsgran?
7a is Prick and 4 letter synonym. Not sure of parsing.
12a , second R missing from 6 letter synonym for Governor.

For 7 'hot' (alt. sp. - 'hote') is Spenser's word for 'named' - put that in front of your answer for the 'rash person'.
