I do need a hint on 1d.

I have 6 conflicts, possibly 7 with 16a.

Also 16a seems to be to habituate with two conflicts. But what is 70s comic?

1d is a tree I hadn't come across before, hankir - 'flexible' = the 2 letter (sexual) prefix[around I + 4 letters for an arm or leg].

There isn't a clash in 16a - it's an old British comedian [one of his many catchphrases - 'ooh, you are awful, but I like you!'].

12d 'a period photograph' is a certain colour [this goes around the first half of the Victorian poet who wrote the 'Charge of the Light Brigade'] extra word - 'wedding'
18a EFT = 'extremely low fr...' inside SS, then a word meaning more sour (6 letters).
