The clue is "Economised" as shown & the answer is "Spared".

As info for degreen, that's shown in the "Solutions" on page 12 of the "Puzzles" section. To be fair, I can see that the OP might know the solutions are given but, wanting to finish as much as possible by themselves, doesn't look at them as it would be hard to pick *just* one answer from the list.
