Three 5 letter and two 4letter answers are remaining to be solved.

1. Cargo fiddle supported by European inequity (5)

2. Fish encircling island it previously preserved (5)

3.Man's given name of Blu Arum (4) Anagram of Arum? I have ?MA? Umar?

4 Can Neymar's first dropped about to get whacked (4)

I have the invention. The circles cells give me 10th item of the invention.
But I have no idea what goes in the perimeter.

Thanks.

Thanks etch.
Did not occur to think of tin for can.
CRIME
EISEL
yes, UMAR is right, hankir.
The 'fiddle' is the RIM on the edge of a tray.
In the perimeter are the six items not given by the clues - there's a comprehensive wiki entry that shows the full list and everything else you need to finish the puzzle.

If 6 of 12 go in perimeter, I do not see a Y in any of those. I have Y from 27d.
Where does the perimeter begin?
Rosemary ends there (and there's another 'y' in the corner cell to the right) they're all English translations of the French words.
I think you're looking for the other group headings rather than the entries for just the one spelled out in the circled cells, hankir (there's many more than 12 of them).

I guessed all the answers around the perimeter. Though I have not yet figured out which group they belong to.
I have I,B,E,Y in four corners.

I can change 4 letters in one direction to get a Holiday in that country.

I will now have to figure out what 4 letters to highlight.
I,B,E,Y looks right (as does the holiday... which falls on a specific date in the list).

Now to move to WSJ puzzle that syzygy posted on the other forum.
Any hints on finding the holiday. Thought it was the most obvious one but can’t see it.Thanks
Just got it!
HI - Ive got a full grid and the right 4 letter changes. I cannot get the very last bit - how does that complete a description?
Every day in the calendar has one of the thematic items ascribed to it - this particular day has the highlighted one,
Got it -understand that now - thanks!
